The Cabinet Building Process

The steps to get from point A to a completed custom cabinet install, typically follows the general steps listed below. If you have additional questions that we haven't answered, one of our friendly staff would be happy to talk with you.

How to begin:

  1. Simply give Alpine Cabinets a call. One of our salesmen will be happy to answer questions and help you start the process.
  2. You may choose to view our online portfolio and products or stop by our show room to look at samples of our craftsmanship and talk with a salesman.
  3. The next step is for us to look at your layout in order to produce a "ballpark price." The layout may vary from a simple sketch with dimensions to a detailed print and can be forwarded to us via mail, fax or email. In order for us to give an estimated price, you will also need to select a wood species and finish.
  4. The quote will be returned to you and a salesperson will go over any questions that you may have. Based on this preliminary quote you can let us know if you are interested in proceeding with a more detailed review of the layout.
  5. Once the quote is approved, Alpine Cabinets requires half down to hold a spot on the production schedule.
  6. After the down payment is received, you will move forward with your salesman to cover all of the fine details, specifying the features and special options you would like to see incorporated into the project. We will work with either the home-owner, contractor or a designer to ensure that all of your wishes are accounted for. At this point we will also need complete appliance spec sheets and finalize exact measurements.
  7. Next we draft the final design of your custom cabinets. The final sketches will be sent to you along with a contract for final approval of the cabinet design and contract.
  8. We also send finish samples for approval as well. When the finish is approved, the samples need to be returned to Alpine so that they can be used for matching by the finish technician.
  9. If any changes to the custom design are needed after the final approval, we will need you to sign a change order before the work can be performed.
  10. Final payment is due at the time of delivery unless other payment arrangements have been made previously.
  11. Depending on your location, either Alpine Cabinets will make the delivery, or we will contract with a local blanket wrap hauler to ensure that your custom cabinets are delivered with the utmost care.
  12. Once the cabinets arrive, it is ready for professional installation either by Alpine Cabinets or a professional carpenter who you have been working with on your project.
  13. Thank You! Alpine Cabinets extends appreciation to you for selecting quality custom built cabinetry from Amish artisans in the heart of Amish Country.

We are confident that the caliber of our workmanship and the bench-crafted quality of the cabinets that we build will provide long-term beauty and value to even the most distinguished home.
